Our entire purpose here at ServerAuth is to make your life easier when it comes to server security and managing access. Our core product is designed to make securing server access simple, and to increase the overall security of your infrastructure.
As part of our latest round of feature releases, we've brought more enhancements to this key offering with the introduction of Scheduled Access.
In a nutshell; you can now restrict access for each team member, to each server account based on the time of day, the day of the week, and between a fixed period.
Let's look at an example;
Previously in this scenario, you'd ask the freelancer for their SSH key, and add it to the authorized_keys file on the server. With ServerAuth you'd invite them to your team, and grant them access.
However as of now, not only would you grant them access, but you'd also set the start and end date of their access. So if you know they only need access for the next 24 hours, you'd set their expiry date to tomorrow. Alternatively, if they work 9am - 5pm, you can set their access to only work between those hours.
We're thrilled to be able to roll out such a powerful new security enhancement that should make a big difference to teams. Even if you don't have contractors or external users who only work certain days, we think it's good practice to restrict most users access times to the minimum needed.
ServerAuth provides a whole host of management tools, from controlling who can access your server, to managing your website deployments. And with an ever-growing suite of tools you'll always be one step ahead!
